How do I use a voltmeter to test whether or not dishwasher panel is broken?
It's me again -I do have a digital multimeter (not a voltmeter, couldn't remember the name) that can be set to measure resistance of all kinds and have the entire power shut off at the breaker to the house just to be safe. I just need to know what direction the current is traveling and where to put the leads to see if there's a short circuit in the wiring of the console (there is only a ribbon connector visible . . .) or if the circuit board is fried. I've been shocked a few times myself on 120 and no, it's definitely not fun. I would hate to throw this dishwasher out if I can't fix it and that's what's going to happen if I can't figure it out since the cost of even having it looked at is a third of the price of a new dishwasher and the price of each potentially damaged part is half the cost (if it needs the console and the circuit board, it's actually cheaper to get a new dishwasher). So frustrating
