Why O S 4 on iphone goes off ?

i got my iphone unlocked n O S 4 was loaded on it. the operating system collapses frequently ,if the phone is switched off or battery goes off or otherwise also. is ther away out? can i restore it myself on on net .pls give steps to restore or some permanent solution.. i do not want to go to repairman , he is charging exorbitantly .
