What kind of pet would be good to own after a hedgehog?

I had a hedgehog about a year ago that died of old age. I finally feel like I'm wanting and ready for a new pet. Trouble is, I don't know what I want. I have the experience with small animals from my hedgehog. It has to be a small animal, that can stay in an enclosure. I don't want another hedgehog or a hamster. I'm open to suggestions, I want another furry friend in my life
